Compound Butter 3 Ways

View my YouTube tutorial of these recipes here! πŸ™‚

What you’ll need:

I used 5 sticks of butter and divided them into three to create 3 different kinds of compound butter for Thanksgiving. These make an amazing gift to bring along to the holidays. The sweet flavors can be used on rolls, biscuits, toast, cinnamon rolls, and so much more. Savory compound butter is amazing on a nice crusty bread, served as an appetizer with crackers, or used to flavor meat. You will, of course, need mix-in’s to make it a compound butter, such as:

  • Fresh berries or fruit
  • Marmalades or jams
  • Honey
  • Caramel sauce
  • Spices
  • Salt and pepper
  • Anything that goes along with butter!

So here are my three takes…

Blackberry Strawberry Butter

  • Butter
  • 1 cup of mixed berries, cut (I used blackberries and strawberries)
  • 1 Tbs honey
  • Pinch of salt

Pumpkin Pie Spice Honey Butter

  • Butter
  • 1 Tbs Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 Tbs Cinnamon/sugar mix
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Pinch of salt

Caramelized Onion Garlic Butter

  • Caramelized onions (see my recipe here)
  • Minced garlic
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper

That’s it! It’s as simple as mixing everything together. Let me know if you have any new butter ideas!
